Wallet sized card carries the ACT NOW acronym, to support a rapid clinical response to a sickle cell crisis. It covers amongst others the need for continual assessment of pain levels, necessary tests and active listening. Co-developed by clinical experts and patients, with staff working in emergency departments, sickle cell disorder ED bypass units, relevant acute ward settings and ambulance services in mind.
