In the classroom

Choose from our flexible, fun ideas to create a year of healthy activity and support your pupils in the first year in which they are weighed and measured as part of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).

This resource includes:

  • simple ideas for building healthy activity into everyday class routines
  • flexible ideas linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and Early Learning Goals
  • ideas and activities that can be adapted for a range of abilities and settings
  • resources to help schools meet statutory duties to promote children's health and well-being, and help them understand how to keep themselves healthy (Ofsted School inspection handbook, personal development, behaviour and welfare)
