- spelling words containing each of the 40-plus phonemes already taught
- using spelling rules (for example, adding -s or -es as the plural marker for nouns)
- writing sentences by saying out loud what they're going to write about
- writing for different purposes
Lower KS2
- writing for a range of purposes and audiences – in particular to persuade
Upper KS2
- using a variety of punctuation – including brackets, commas, apostrophes and semi-colons
Learning objectives
After completing these lessons, pupils should be able to:
- explain why we shouldn't eat too much sugar
- identify some everyday sugar swaps they can make
- share information or persuade others to make everyday sugar swaps
