Eatwell guide

The eatwell guide highlights the different types of food that make up our diet, and helps children learn the proportions we should eat to have a healthier and more balanced diet.

It is also a widely accepted and easily recognisable visual aid to help promote balanced eating.

Get the whole school involved

Get children to keep a lunch diary and compare it to the eatwell guide. Are they eating a balanced diet?

In the classroom

The eatwell guide can help you demonstrate to children what proportion of food they should eat from the different food groups.

How to use:

  • ask children to look at what foods are in each section of the eatwell guide
