This resource helps regions, systems and practices communicate to patients that the regularity of their dental check-ups should be based on an assessment of their oral health risk. This may mean some patients with poor oral health have a recall interval of less than 6 months, while those with good oral health may have recall intervals of more usually 12 months, or even 24 months. They should discuss their personal recall with their dentist.
